Raid/Trial/Dungeon Teach Group? Empty
PostSubject: Raid/Trial/Dungeon Teach Group?   Raid/Trial/Dungeon Teach Group? EmptySun Jul 13, 2014 2:37 am

Hey Lotus,

(This first paragraph is just backstory for what made me think of this)

Earlier I was running Garuda EX with Tikk and Kittie, and after several, less than successful attempts, we ended with an abandonment. AFter which we started discussing what had been going wrong, and the different kind of people that were in our group. (It was only us 3 from Lotus, the rest were matched up with the DF) We had one tank who was there, I don't quite remember the names seeing as how it is very late where I am, but anyway. So this paladin was probably the only one willing to listen and learn with what we had to say. I don't believe anybody in that party had cleared Garuda, and if they did, It really didn't show...  I had still remembered everything from every video I had watched about Garuda EX, so I described the entire encounter before what i believe was our 4th attempt, but still, the paladin was the only one who really listened, however the others did stop killing the spiny, which was a step up, but I digress.

Now, I know we have sections on the forums for tips and tricks for how to do certain runs and dungeons, but as with the videos that I use (MTQCapture Youtube Channel), There is only so much you can learn by reading and listening to somebody talk. And the only way someone can get good a doing something, and get better at it, is by doing it. So with this in mind, I would like to propose the question of forming a "group" of some sorts that teaches and trains people in whichever role they choose to do certain raids, trials, and dungeons. Whether it be how to run it period, how to keep aggro on a certain group within a dungeon, or even how to tank swap. I in NO way mean to try and take over anybody's raid group, or even to start one. I simply ask that we have just a set of people (I'm not saying a group of people to carry them through the instance) that can help teach these things to either beginners or people who just don't understand videos or don't have the patience to read a guide on them. In conclusion, I would just like to hear if anyone has any thoughts on whether or not this would be a good idea, and why or why not. Thanks for reading!

-Raye (:

(P.S: If i missed something that there is already something like this, then I'd gladly delete this ^^)

PostSubject: Class Leaders and Dungeon Dashers   Raid/Trial/Dungeon Teach Group? EmptyMon Jul 14, 2014 8:38 am

You don't have to delete anything, Raye!

In fact, we do have some people who are "Class Leaders" for their specific class in the fc. You can find a list of their names [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] They have accepted that job and are there to help you if you have questions on anything about your class (such as how to keep aggro during Garuda ex). Smile

Aside from those class leaders, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] are there to form a party for people who are trying to complete dungeons for the first time and need either help, or a group to get through it. This can be any level! We want to help everyone and as having played a dps class myself and knowing how long the wait for my very first Sastasha run was, I am completely willing to join one of those groups and guide anyone through clearing it. Sastasha was hard the first time! (no one judge me...)  silent

So I don't know if I've answered your questions or not, if I didn't, please throw it back at me, Raye!

Thanks for your post. Smile

Thanks Felicity ^^, But my point really was, that yes we have Class Leaders and Dungeon Dasher, but 1. We don't have very many dungeon dashers to begin with. 2. I'm not entirely talking about just clearing something, I'm saying that instead of having set people for "Dungeon dashing" that we have people that can go into a raid or a dungeon, and teach them how it is done, so that soon enough, most people will know what to do so that anyone can help someone asking, instead of just a select few. I'm not trying to sound mean or anything (It seemed like I was as I read through this in my head). And I'm not saying that EVERYONE should run something until they know it to every second of the instance, but the people that do want to help people and run it multiple times, are able to do so.

Garuda is basically a tank battle. As long as tanks know what they're doing, it shouldn't be too hard to get a clear. I can help you main tank as long as I'm not doing any roulette/dungeon run. I'm usually on between 6pm to 9pm MST.

Hey Raye! You're not being mean at all, don't worry about it. I'm really glad you're being so clear.

So, I've spoken with Drake, and I'm going to try to recruit some more people for dungeon dashing. I know the name is deceiving, but it really is their purpose to teach people how to run dungeons, not just "dash" them through it to completion. Smile

Also, I'm going to start up a static night every week for what you're asking for. It'll probably still be called "Dungeon Dashing," but it will be static, so that people can plan ahead and let me know in advance what dungeon they want to "learn" so I can gather any specific people (such as a class leader) we might need to teach that dungeon.
How does that sound? I'd really like your opinion on this and any further suggestions you might have. Smile

Thanks Raye for all your feedback, please keep it coming!

Anyone who could press buttons could finish a dungeon in this game. You should change it so you only need teach people how to do EX primal parties because these battles actually require full party coordination.  How about changing the name to "EX Rush" because it sounds cooler. Wink

P.S. I just want to see newbies suffer through EX battles Very Happy

That does sound cool. Very Happy
Will you help me guide people, cable? Since you're "the Professional"? You're allowed to say no... but you're at the top of my head-hunting list.  What a Face

Sure, I could only handle one run per day before I start raging and as long as you're not still playing the game on your Atari.
