First time poster, long time snooper.
So you might think that you're a crafting god once you have all your crafting jobs to 50, but the fun is just about to start. To begin, let's go through all the special skills you get at level 50 for each job.
Careful Synthesis II (WVR) - One of the most useful skill for 2 star / 3 star crafting. It increases your progress at 120% efficiency at 100% success rate. Combined with Ingenuity II, you can complete the same amount of progress as rapid synthesis.
Waste Not II (LTR) - More like waste your god damn CP. Do not use this for manual synth unless you want to make baby jesus cry.
Ingenuity II (BSM) - This lowers you recipe level for the next 5 step. Godly when use with Careful Synthesis and Byregot's Blessing.
Byregot's Blessing (CRP) - A must for 1 - 3 star crafting. Increases your quality by 100% + 20% for each inner quiet stack. If you're crafting 1 - 3 star recipes and you don't have this, drop everything and start getting your carpenter to 50.
Innovation (GSM) - This increases your control by 50% for the next 3 steps. Useful for end game, but not required.
Piece by Piece - This ability is mandatory for 3 star crafting. This increases your remaining progress by 1/3. Do not start crafting 3 star recipes until you have this.
Comfort Zone (ALC) - Restores 8 CP for the next 10 steps. This actually gives you 14 more CP if your synth is over 10 steps. More CP is always better!
Reclaim (CUL) - Gives you a 90% chance of reclaiming your mats after a failed synth. Use if you're going for High Quality synths.
Before you star crafting your items for artisan spectacles/tools, make sure you have your gears fully melded. If you're undecided on what to meld on your materia slots before overmelding, you always want to meld your most expensive materia first to save gil.
Here is my setup.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The lower grade your materia, the higher chance the success rate for overmeld.
For the hands, pants and boots. Always use the following setup.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]For body, the follow is meld is enough. Any more is overkill.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]There is no way to maximize stats for your offhand tool, I would suggest adding whatever you need to meet the minimum requirements for 2/3 star recipes. This is my current melds for all offhands tools.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Since the artisan spectacles are vastly superior to the Class head gear, I would suggest not to meld any materia on it.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]My GSM without head gear. Just enough to meet the minimum requirement for 2 star recipes (318 Control). The body also uses a lower grade materia compared to the example above.
Using the above setup, you should have more the enough to craft 1 and 2 star recipes.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Same setup, but with Artisan Spectacles.
In order to craft 3 star recipes, you must obtain the artisan spectacles first.
For 1 star 40 durability items, I would suggest using the following rotation.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The above rotations requires 379 CP to complete, so how can you do it with less than that. By using
tricks of the trade for every
good status. This should give you more than enough CP to complete the rotation.
If your base CP is 341 or more, you can use the following macro.
/ac "Comfort Zone" <me> <wait.2>
/ac "Inner Quiet" <me> <wait.2>
/ac "Steady Hand II" <me> <wait.2>
/ac "Basic Touch" <me> <wait.3>
/ac "Basic Touch" <me> <wait.3>
/ac "Manipulation" <me> <wait.2>
/ac "Basic Touch" <me> <wait.3>
/ac "Basic Touch" <me> <wait.3>
/ac "Steady Hand II" <me> <wait.2>
/ac "Ingenuity II" <me> <wait.2>
/ac "Innovation" <me> <wait.2>
/ac "Basic Touch" <me> <wait.3>
/ac "Great Strides" <me> <wait.2>
/ac "Byregot's Blessing" <me> <wait.3>
/ac "Careful Synthesis II" <me>
This macro should only be used for 1 star recipes and should yield HQ synth 90% of the time.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]For Hand in items such as rose gold ingot, I would suggest using HQ items with the above rotation.
Remember to use
Tricks of the Trick for every
Good status for maximum CP.
In order to obtain the artisan spectacles, you will need to create 10 HQ hand in items from the master recipe book ( ex. Rose Gold Clogs etc.)
For these items, I would suggest using CP food. The best is bouillabaisse HQ.
The best rotation for this synth is the following:
Comfort Zone > Inner Quiet > Steady Hand > hasty touch/ refresh steady hand till 10/20 durability > Comfort Zone > Master's Meld II > Hasty Touch / refresh Steady Hand till 50 DUR > Steady Hand II > Great Stride
At this point, If you have excellent use byregot's blessings > Ingenuity II > Careful Synthesis II x4.
If not, use Innovation > Ingenuity II > Byregot's Blessings > Careful Synthesis II x 4.
Remember to use
Tricks of the Trick for every
Good status for maximum CP.
Once have enough to obtain your artisan spectacles, you will need to grind 50 HQ turn in items for Artisan Tools.
This can be pretty time consuming.
The following macro should be able to create HQ turn in items using HQ mats. It requires 380 CP, so I would suggest using HQ bouillabaisse.
Macro 1
/ac "Comfort Zone" <me> <wait.2>
/ac "Inner Quiet" <me> <wait.2>
/ac "Waste Not II" <me> <wait.2>
/ac "Steady Hand II" <me> <wait.2>
/ac "Hasty Touch" <me> <wait.3>
/ac "Basic Touch" <me> <wait.3>

/ac "Innovation" <me> <wait.2>
/ac "Basic Touch" <me> <wait.3>
/ac "Great Strides" <me> <wait.2>

Macro 2

/ac "Careful synthesis II" <me> <wait.3>
/ac "Careful synthesis II" <me> <wait.3>
/ac "Careful synthesis II" <me> <wait.3>
This macro requires
Waste Not II and should be able to create 25-30 HQ synths before your food run out.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]This should be your full stats with Artisan Tool. Just enough to meet the minimum requirement for 3 star recipes (Craftsmanship: 391 Control: 374).
I will be posting my 3 star crafting rotation later!
